It was already chilly, and the shifting autumn sun was gradually warming the chilled greenery. Entering the dense bushes immediately entailed wet clothes, but the plan was simple: find a moment when some extra light could be introduced with a blender, while still keeping the whole scene in shadow.

This allowed to subtly cut the silhouette from the gloomy background and give the portrait clarity. The final element was the smoke candle - we had several color variations, and in the end white smoke worked best. After a short, energetic action, the whole area was shrouded in a light mist that highlighted the sun's rays, creating natural columns of light.

I don't remember the exact name of the plant held in my hand - I have asked it many times and always forget. For that, I remember the day perfectly. It was a perfect autumn photo session in Darmstadt, full of warmth despite the cold, with wonderful people and a magical atmosphere.
