It was late, the city was slowly falling asleep, and we were wondering how to make the most of the young night. Too early to sleep, too much inspiration in the air. The old attic, with its massive, crude beams, turned out to be a space with tremendous potential - the perfect backdrop for the most challenging form of bondage: suspension bondage.
Suspension is a discipline that is not forgiving of mistakes. It requires not only technical proficiency, but above all absolute trust between model and photographer. Working without a standard metal hoop, we had to rely on the rough structure of the loft. Rope by rope, I created a harness that slowly took away gravity's power over the body. It was that brief moment of suspension when the model stopped touching the ground.
Moments later, a figure appeared in the frame hanging horizontally - I created something like a suspension hogtied. I knew that time was limited; this was the price one pays for authenticity and improvisation. In the rhythmic flash of strobe lights, successive shots were created, building an atmosphere of horror and beauty at the same time.
"Imagine that someone is standing behind me.... Feel the twitch before you let out a cry of terror from your chest." That one moment I cared so much about was frozen in time. It's a session that proved that a crude loft and a few ropes are enough to tell a story of powerlessness and control.
